*Rave* REVIEW: Revlon Candid Foundation, Concealer and Powder

 Revlon Candid Review

Revlon's PhotoReady Candid Collection of foundation, concealer and powder has been my first introduction to makeup that claims to protect the skin from aggressors like blue light, pollution and antioxidants. As someone who spends many hours in front of screens, I am onboard with this idea - whether it's truly effective or not.

Although I can't speak to the efficiency of this blue light and pollution blocking (this is something that would simply be a benefit incurred with continued use over the years) I can speak to the results I've had with the makeup's wear-time and finish. My answer to this is, I LOVE IT.

Revlon Candid Foundation Review

Revlon PhotoReady Candid™ Natural Finish Anti-Pollution Foundation $14

This incredibly creamy, moisturizing and protective foundation has no oils, parabens, phthalates, synthetic dyes, and harsh fragrances. I can confidently say that the Revlon Candid foundation in the shade 130 is one of my favourite base products I've ever tried. The convenient tube packaging mixed with a skin-enhancing, natural-looking coverage delivers a flawless finish—all day long—as it hydrates and protects from the environment. You get medium coverage that feels weightless and looks like your best skin! It is also available in 31 makeup shades.

Tl;dr? Revlon Candid Foundation makes my skin look smooth, pretty and hydrated right off the bat. The pigment doesn't oxidize and it wears on my skin evenly throughout the day, looking better at the end of the night than it did in the morning. I'm not kidding you here, this foundation is glorious.

Revlon Candid Concealer Review

PhotoReady Candid™ Antioxidant Concealer $12

This concealer has light to medium coverage and helps camouflage dark circles with a jolt of caffeine. The flexible doe-foot applicator is handy and it is available in 18 shades. Although this product is ideal for delicate under eye skin, I found that the coverage just wasn't enough for me. It could be that my shade in 005 is too dark, but I don't love the concealer nearly as much as the foundation. I'll try out another shade since I've heard good reviews from others, but I think you could skip on this one and look to Maybelline for a more full-cover product.

PhotoReady Candid™ Anti-Pollution Setting Powder $15

This translucent, loose setting powder creates a natural, airbrushed effect—all while protecting the skin from harmful pollutants (and leaving out things like parabens). I love how easy it is to tap out some of this powder and swipe it over the skin before heading out the door. The sealing container is really secure and not too messy. It sets my foundation and concealer well, and helps my blush and bronzer glide on evenly. I've read in some reviews that the flashback in photography is very bad with this powder, so be careful to not apply too much if you'll be having your picture taken. I find that the texture can be a touch drying with this powder, but no major concerns.

If there's one foundation that I'd recommend trying for the fall from the drugstore, it would be this! Good for all skin types, from dry to oily. I think you'll love it too.
