As a long-time Paula's Choice fan, I'm always game for trying something new from the brand. I've been very loyal to Clinique for my masks in recent years, so it's hard for other brands to stack up. These two Paula's Choice masks aim to clear pores and rehydrate skin, both of which I need on a weekly basis. I'm going to try and mask every time I workout, which is 2-3 times per week, so I'll update you on if that happens and how it's going in the upcoming months. Now, on to the PC review!
Pore Clarifying Charcoal Gel Mask
This gel mask aims to balance oily skin and decongest pores with charcoal and natural clays. The unique part is that the ingredients are suspended in a soothing gel mask for a refreshed, shine-free complexion. Make sure you apply this to dry, clean skin. This unique charcoal gel attracts oil and skin impurities like a magnet so they can be rinsed away, leaving pores less congested and visibly minimized. My skin looks fresh, smooth and balanced after using - not too tight or dried out. Make sure to apply a generous layer all over the face, and let dry for 10-15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with water. My favourite part is that this mask may be used as often as needed, which works great since it isn't as intense as the Clinique Pore Refining mask, for example. Perfect for highly sensitive skin.Rehydrating Moisture Mask
The rehydrating Moisture Mask smooths, softens and hydrates dry, distressed skin instantly. It includes jojoba plant oil, vitamin E antioxidant, amino acids and glycerin to reinforce the skin’s surface and to create a moisture-locking barrier overnight. This mask is a replenishing last step in your routine for immediate moisturization and lasting hydration. Use this rich, creamy mask on cleansed skin and apply a generous layer all over the face and neck. Leave on for at least 20 minutes and either rinse thoroughly, OR leave on overnight as your last step in your skincare routine. This is an amazing way to prevent against future moisture loss, and to help repair any healing blemishes.
I'm really pleased with these two masks since they do exactly what they say, and work best if used frequently throughout the week. They aren't too messy, the packaging travels well and they aren't ridiculously expensive at around ~$20 USD each. Don't expect miracles right away, but do use religiously for an optimal glow.
Happy Masking!
