When I'm buying makeup for myself now, I have simple rules: high-end foundation and concealer, low-end liner and mascara. High-end eyeshadow, low-end blush and bronzer. Lippies can go either way. I have a tooon of makeup, more than I need, but I still love trying products from all ends of the spectrum since I know you can find awesome dupes at the drugstore for your favourite $ephora finds.
Physicians Formula is a brand that is readily available at the drugstore, but the regular price of their products are literally Sephora worthy. So which of their beauty buys are actually worth it? I have been hearing about their Matte Eyeshadow Quads on YouTube from bloggers like MsGoldGirl, and couldn't help but try them all out when I received a 50% off coupon at Generation Beauty last year.
I included all of these products in a haul earlier this year, along with some incredible products that I use on a daily basis:
I've completely finished that brow definer pencil in dark blonde, which was amazing. Soft, easy to apply, the perfect shade for my dark blonde hair (duh) and long-wearing pigment that always looked natural. I'd buy it again for sure. I like the double-ended brow pencil too (but prefer the ease of use with roll-up ones).
The Eye Booster liquid liner pen in dark brown is outstanding, my favourite liquid liner I've ever tried. Those Conceal Rx shades in fair/neutral light are also wonderful, with rich pigmentation and a comfortable finish. You get so much in the tube, I'd recommend trying them for sure! Here's a swatch:
Now, on to the eyeshadow swatches and looks using my Physicians Formula Matte Collection Quads:

PF Matte Collection Shadow in Classic Nudes |
Oh, how I love a simple matte eye with a sharp liner. I can't get over this palette in Classic Nudes! It provides a stunning shadow under the brow bone and can amplify your entire eye area without being too punchy or distracting. The shades all blend seamlessly, but I find this palette to be especially pigmented and flattering on my skintone.

It's rare to see drugstore products (especially eye shadows) with ratings over 4/5 on MakeupAlley. This PF palette in Canyon Classics is at 4.5!
The cooler-toned palettes still pack a punch, but didn't go on as vibrantly on my lids as Classic Nudes. These shades are perfect for my mom who has the prettiest grey/blue eyes, and doesn't need a shimmery lid for day-to-day. I also don't find these powders to feel overly drying or uncomfortable on my lids. Note that I do always wear primer underneath since I have oily lids. My favourite is the Milani one, or Wet n Wild.

I can't find these palettes in-store, and since PF doesn't have the best Canadian shipping (I think I paid a generous amount for it) I'd highly recommend shopping the brand on ULTA!
Have you ever tried Physician's Formula?
