Too Faced Better Than Sex vs. L'Oreal Lash Paradise

Today I'm comparing Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara, which costs a whopping $30 CAD vs L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise which you can find for as little as $11 at Walmart. Did I splurge or save on this makeup staple? Read on to find out.

L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise 

I have been using shade Black Brown for a slightly softer look, which I prefer on a daily basis. This mascara feels soft, fluttery, flexible and really long lasting on my sensitive eyes. I like the packaging of this mascara, but my favourite part has to be the brush. It's very classic but is jam packed with plastic bristles kept together using a standard wire base. I can get right to my lash base and bulk up for some serious volume.

Too Faced Better Than Sex

My girl Alanna from Classy on the Run gifted me with my first Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara in a killer gift bag from one of her blogger swaps last year. I loved how this mascara looked upon first application, but sadly it didn't last well on me at all. The colour is super black and the packaging is very luxe. Fortunately, my sister Lauren tried it and loves how it looks on her long lashes. Hers are curlier than mine and don't tend to hit below the eyelids like mine do when I blink. This mascara wears very well on her and doesn't flake off. I think she might have a less-oily eye area, and she doesn't wear as much makeup as me. 

The Verdict?

L'Oreal Volumionus Lashparadise wins! For an everyday mascara, I've always loved L'Oreal Voluminous original, and this new beauty to the line doesn't dissappoint. Where Too Faced is concerned, though it isn't my HG mascara, I know that both Alanna and my sister love it since their eyes are a different shape to mine. 

That being said, there's a brand new player in the game now too. At an even steeper price, Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes Volume 2 is truly incredible - and I think beats both of these alternatives. See more in my Face of the Day tutorial here.
