Where makeup and skincare are concerned, I don't think there's a brand better than Pixi - especially at the drugstore. I’ve loved Pixi ever since trying them for the first time last year and I was mega lucky to receive their spring/summer 2018 collection to try, which is all freaking amazing. Honestly. I adore everything about this brand. Let's jump into the swatches!
I started wearing the products during my Cuba trip in March and I haven’t stopped since. Here are some short reviews on each.
SKINCARE
Glow Tonic
100 ml $20
Pixi Glow Tonic is the best toner ever, in my humble opinion. It's accessible at Shoppers Drug Mart, comes in 3 convenient sizes, and combines the best of all chemical exfoliants (AHA and BHA) to refine and perfect your skin on a daily basis. I need to buy the 15 ml Glow Tonic travel size for $8 to keep in my travel bag, and this size would also be perfect for testing out the strength of the peel on your skin.Glow Tonic To-Go Pads
60 Pads $24
These are the ultimate travel-friendly pads, pre-soaked in Glow Tonic with the perfect textured surface to invigorate your face before bed. This product will tone, brighten, hydrate and gently exfoliate for clean renewed skin. 10/10, You must try it.Rose Flash Balm
$24
This 3-in-1, oil-free, quick absorbing cream moisturizes and brightens the skin before makeup. It also works similarly to the Clarins Beauty Flash Balm as it can be used as a revitalizing mask before completing your evening skincare routine. I find that this product worked well on the days that my skin wasn't dry, it's ideal for normal to oily skins since my combo patches can lean more dry and this didn't fully cut it each time.MAKEUP
Pixi Chloe Morello Lip Icing
$22
This liquid lip gloss adds serious glisten and glimmer. Use it on bare lips or on top of lip colour for an instant glow-boost. It is infused with nourishing rose hip & marula oil, so it won't dry out your skin. I found it to be a bit gritty with the "3D" glitter, but it does create a lovely sheen and provided great hydration when layered on over the Pixi MultiBalm in Soft Strawberry.Palette Chloette
$34
Bring out your inner glow and add a romantic sheen to your favourite features with this must-have palette containing YouTuber Chloe Morello’s favourite hues. Super silky blush and eye shades bring that “in-love glow” to your complexion & lids. To finish off there's a trio of matte eye contour & liner shades that double as brow powders to define. This palette was my all-in-one necessity while on vacation. Each shade is fantastic, I love the creamy pigmentation and long-wearing colour. Fantastic!Café con Dulce All-Over Face Palette
$34
Hello, favourite makeup product of 2018. This do-it-all palette will enliven your complexion, lids and cheeks with its array of highly pigmented powders. Whenever I wear these bronzers, blushes and highlights I get tons of compliments. They are not overly glittery, and truly make you glow in a very angelic way. The texture is powder-to-cream which works so well in the summer to bring a healthy flush to the cheeks, glow on your high points, and a soft contour around the eyes. I'm addicted to this palette and rarely leave the house without a swipe of 3-4 shades all over the face.Cafe con Dulce palette on eyes, cheeks, bronzer and lids. Multi-Balms used on cheeks and lips. |
Weylie Dimensional Eye Creator Kit
$28
Highlight and define for the ultimate dimensional eyes. Pigmented, blendable, warm eye shades paired with a 2-in-1 black kohl pencil and liquid eyeliner makes for the ideal night-out look. Whenever I want to look on point, I use this eye palette. The shades are so complimentary to my skin tone and eye colour, with the warm copper and rosy hues. See this drugstore palette compared to Charlotte Tilbury Exagger-Eyes in a recent post here.Weylie Dimensional Eye Creator Kit - excuse the silly photos, they were the best ones that showed my shadow! ;P |
MultiBalm in Sheer Sculpt and Soft Strawberry
$8 [Sale!]
These are 2-in-1 cheek and lip colour sticks. I am in love, and they have a permanent place in my handbag. These multi-use, crème-powder sticks awaken the skin by adding a touch of colour to the face.A "touch" of colour is a bit of an understatement, these colour sticks are outrageously pigmented. I love running a flat foundation brush across the sticks and blending them to contour and blush up my cheeks in these warmer summer months. See them applied in my Face of the Day video here. I am also wearing my black Weylie eyeliner and multi-sticks in the look below:
Products on my Wish List:
Two skincare bits I'm dying to try from Pixi are the Peel & Polish $30 scrub and their Glow Mud Mask $30. Peel & Polish is a radiance revealing enzyme peel to resurface for smoother, softer skin, and a healthy looking glow. The Mud Mask is a purifying, glow-revealing clay mask to purify & balance skin - it's their signature 15-minute facial!
