If I could pick one makeup product that is so worth trying from the drugstore, it would be Essence Matt Matt Matt Lipstick. These swatches speak for themselves. Essence Matt Matt Matt are $4.49 each and perform exactly as described: rich colour, matte finish, fresh flavour and incredible wear-time. My grandmother is a big fan of the vibrant reds, I made sure to share some with her. I also recommended them to a member of a makeup group on Facebook, and she has also been converted:

Essence nail polishes have been favourites of mine for years as well. Their old formula that came in tiny bottles was super great, but the gel polish is also superb for the low price of $1.99. (RIP to my favourite nude ever used here and another one here)
