It's the most wonderful time of the year when the One of a Kind holiday show comes back around. This is the first time I visited as a shopper, as I had worked at the show for Joanna at Belle Boutique over the past few years. I am always enchanted by the jewellery and accessories on display, though this year's food and homeware especially drew me in. The delicate designs of Goye, pictured above were my favourite.
I visited two times over the 10-day stretch, the first with my friend Julie (vlogger at Mme Bonheur) and the second with Joseph (vlogged here). Julie and I visited the wonderful ceramistes at Jarre Ceramics to check out their unique and useful creations. They were featured last year in La Presse (fr) for their revolutionary storage systems to keep fruit and vegetables fresh - out of the fridge. Joseph and I picked out a beautiful French Butter Dish for a gift.
If you're looking for unique Christmas tree ornaments, OOAK is the place for you. I also spent quite some time exploring Mary Ann Slater's incredibly lifelike artwork. You can flip through her portfolio here.
I am a loyal follower of Teeny Tiny Bakery on Instagram so it was a serious fangirl moment when I passed by Jacqueline's boot. Need a gift for kids, or a unique party favour? These cookies are cute, delicious, and they stay fresh for up to 3 months.
Another local Instagram favourite of mine is Monque at MoonRox. These stunning and unique handmade pieces are iconic, I can always spot them from a mile away. Check out her shop on the OOAK site here.
A big favourite of ours was Brianna's Artwork. Her and her husband were so cool, I could have chatted with them for hours! I love her paintings, the details are unbelievable. We bought a whole bunch of cards from her as they feature her stunning artwork, many of them were perfect for the Christmas season.
The selection of kids clothes and accessories is innumerable at the show. These tie-bottom Sleepsacks from Electrik Kidz are fantastic, definitely my go-to baby gift that ring in at just under $40.
My purchases from OOAKX16 include a handmade wooden cooking spoon from Noble Woodcraft, some adorable Christmas cookie earrings from Petite Creation, Maple Syrup Sauce from Voisin's, the best sloth/raccoon/pug Christmas cards from Jo at La Jolee, the Beurrier breton mentioned above from Jarre, a gorgeous little plant from Keri Rounding, the "Discovery Kit" from 3/4 oz. Tonic Maison, Almond Butter Toffee from Sweet Truth and the cards from Brianna's Artwork.
I did a little vlog at the show, check it out below!
Missed out on attending this year? You can shop OOAK online, and start building up your list for Spring 2017.
