My sisters have been using Marcelle BB Cream and makeup remover for years. I've read many rave reviews on the makeup remover in particular, from popular Canadian bloggers like Chelle from Makeup Your Mind. So when people ask for a good makeup remover recommendation, this one is sure to top the list.
Priced at $15 cad, these dual-phase removers are very effective. The original "Gentle Makeup Remover" from Marcelle always reminds me of my go-to Express remover from Nivea.
This brand new release from Marcelle claims to be an even more instant eye makeup remover, enriched with aloe vera to soothe and calm the skin.
It aims to dissolve all traces of long-wearing eye and lip makeup, including waterproof mascara. I was thrilled when it actually lived up to that claim, since this remover is oil-free.
I have delicate, sensitive skin, so a formula that leaves my eye area comfortable and free from stinging is key. The one thing that I immediately noticed with this remover, is that there is absolutely no scent to it. Once you shake up the two phases and begin to dissolve your makeup, the outcome is quick and easy.
I definitely noticed that my skin felt "conditioned" like it says on the description. This feeling of a light moisturizing finish might bother some people, so in that case I'd recommend the original formula.
The second skincare product which was just released from Marcelle is their Ultra Gentle Moisturizing Cream. This anti-dryness face cream is "gluten free, paraben free, oil free and non comedogenic". I must admit that my makeup doesn't sit very well over this moisturizer, but I never noticed breakouts or irritation when I was testing it.
This almost $20 cream has good packaging, softens the skin well, and has many strong points (no fragrance, few ingredients, absorbs well). I can't say that it's much better than any of the night or day creams I swear by (my favourites are outlined here and here) but if it seems like a winner for you, look out for a sale!
