The International Makeup Artist Trade Show is an annual event that is being held this weekend at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Tickets are $50, which allows you to get exclusive discounts on some of the biggest professional makeup brands. Since I enjoy writing about all things makeup and beauty, I was eligible for a free press pass to the show.
My first stop was at the Royal And Langnickel booth, since they are one of the most popular makeup brush companies featured at the show. I had such a great time exploring their displays, and I ended up coming home with quite the haul.
I spent some time looking through the professional palettes, and trying out the most natural ones to take home for more practical use. These coloured creams reminded me of Halloween face paint, and definitely left me feeling inspired for this year's makeup and costumes.
Here's what I picked up at the event:

All in all, I had a fantastic time at IMATS. I got there pretty early in the morning, and met up with some bloggers from the CBB Network for lunch afterwards. I had no specific shopping list, which made wandering around very enjoyable. Though it did start to get a bit busy around 11 AM, I definitely could have found many things to do until closing at 5 PM. There were live presentations on-stage by famous artists, and some serious lines for the most popular booths (Makeup Forever, NYX and Morphe).
Have you ever been to IMATS? I'd definitely recommend checking it out next year.
