We all need to sit in the sun. Vitamin D is crucial for our overall health, and I can tell you firsthand that a bit of sun exposure makes me noticeably happier.
But a few too many sunburns can kill. And I don't just mean that in an "ow-my-skin-is-on-fire" kind of kill.
As someone who can't stand slapping on thick, greasy, stinky cream on a humid and sweaty day, I am extremely picky when it comes to sunscreen. So here are 4 lightweight favourites that have kept me out of the red zone this entire summer. (See the ones from 2014 linked here)
Clarins SPF 15 Sunscreen Spray Oil-Free Lotion ($35)
This refreshing spray works amazing as a mid-day touch up for the body. I love how it makes my legs glow and it can even be spritzed on the scalp. One bottle will last forever.Vichy Idéal Soleil SPF 60 Ultra Protection Sunscreen Stick ($20)
This little stick is my face ninja. After applying Tarteguard all over my face, I'll stripe this on the top of my nose, forehead, ears and cheekbones. It's so light, has zero scent, isn't shiny, doesn't clog pores and provides amazing protection.Tarteguard SPF 30 Sunscreen Lotion ($12, travel size)
This new and popular cream claims to be "non-chemical" with added skincare benefits. It includes ingredients like maracuja oil, vitamin e, red algae, hyaluronic acid, etc. I picked it up in a Sephora haul (watch the video here) and I love keeping it in my travel bag for daily use. The fresh scent, comfortable finish and decent daily protection makes it a top pick for me.Vichy Idéal Soleil SPF 30 Invisible Mist Dry Touch Sunscreen ($24)
This feels like NOTHING! It's pretty much magic, and has been incredible to apply in the morning before clothing. The mist is super fine, and feels very fresh on the skin. Love Love Love.
Let's get outside and soak up some rays!
xx
