February 2015 Favourites

This month flew by, and I can honestly say that I don't really mind. I can't wait to bid farewell to the harsh winter wind, and my equally as harsh university midterms. Thankfully I've had a bunch of new and exciting products to brighten up my beauty routine.

E.l.f. Bronzer Brush and Defining Eye Brush (part of a set linked here)

It took me so long to try these brushes, but I'm so thankful that I finally did. For $1 each or $12 for a set, these makeup brushes are the stars of my daily routine. Check out the video below to see how I use them to apply multiple powder products.

OPI Nail Envy Matte

This is the only base coat that I'll use now a days. It strengthens your nails and protects them from turning yellow, while keeping the polish chip-free for days. I will probably never buy a different base coat again.

INM Out The Door Top Coat

I like this stuff so much, I bought the monster size. The brightening blue tint of this top coat (which you can't see on the nails) is really nice, and I am a huge fan of how thinly it applies. It dries quick and keeps my polish shiny and strong for the entire week. You can find Out The Door at most beauty supply stores.

L'Occitane Immortelle Oil Makeup Remover

This is how magic happens: on a dry face, take one pump of this oil, massage it all over your makeup for a few seconds, then rinse with warm water. All of your makeup will wash right off in a milky lather, and you can follow up with a cleanser and skincare if you wish. The Immortelle flower oil smells amazing and it leaves my skin super clean and calm.

L'Occitane Ultra Soft Shea Butter Balm

This apricot-scented moisturizer is 96% shea butter, which works wonders on dry skin. It can be used on the lips, body and hair and comes in a gorgeous screw-top tin with a generous amount of product. The best part is that profits from this balm will go towards supporting literacy, training and entrepreneurial programs for women in Burkina Faso. It's only $6 so make sure to pick one up on (or after) March 8th to support International Women's Day. I love using this as a lip balm since it tastes just like orange Creamsicle.

Amore Pacific Treatment Enzyme Peel

This is an oldie but goodie, first featured here. This is my favourite botanical exfoliating treatment that I use with my Clarisonic Luxe Cashmere brush head. This citrus smelling powder foams up with water, and leaves my skin feeling soft, radiant and absolutely keeps my pores clear. I use it a few times a week in place of my nighttime cleanser, and I'm barely 1/4 through the bottle. Talk about a good value.

LUSH Aqua Marina Cleanser

I've been using this cleanser at night with my Clarisonic, right after my L'Occitane makeup remover and on the nights that I don't use the Amore Pacific Peel. Here's how they describe it "This creamy, gentle cleanser is rolled up with mineral-rich nori seaweed to nourish the skin, cooling aloe vera gel and a sprinkling of sea salt for a super gentle exfoliation." Whenever I use this as my cleanser, I wake up with glowing, soothed skin that looks nourished and healthy. I think it's working!

LUSH Let The Good Times Roll Cleanser

I am so tempted to eat this stuff, it's not even funny. It's like caramel popcorn, french vanilla, warm goodness in a gentle scrub. Since it's a bit too harsh for my face, I use this mainly as a cleanser/exfoliant on my chest and back. Please just go into the store and smell how good this is, trust me.
