Earlier this week I shared some thoughts on a bunch of new releases from Marcelle Cosmetics, so to continue on the same theme, here are my faves from their sister brand Annabelle.
I've purchased many Annabelle eyeliners in the past, and they've all turned out to be consistently pigmented and easy to use. The two brands are known for their hypoallergenic, affordable and well formulated products, so I was thrilled to receive these as press samples back in the summer.
It's no surprise that my three favourite eye products right now happen to be from this collection:
The Brow Show Liner & Highlighter in light ($10), Smokey Nudes Eyeshadow Palette ($13) and The EyeInk² Liquid Eyeliner Duo in brown. Their efficacy is blowing my mind.
The Smokey Nudes Eyeshadow Palette from Annabelle is truly fantastic, with an affordable price of $13 CAD. Not only does it contain a vast and wearable shade range, but the pigmentation is really good for a drugstore brand. The finishes are mainly satin to shimmery, but there is some variation in texture with the matte nude/black/dark brown. Even though these pressed shadows can get a little bit powdery, it isn't bothersome so I'd highly recommend trying this out.
I think the most "improved" product from Annabelle's range (in regards to my opinion) is this jumbo Brow Show Liner & Highlighter ($10) in the shade light. I was totally turned off of this pencil duo to begin with since it's quite dry and waxy. Lone behold, that's the best part.
This waxy pencil is the perfect shade for my eyebrows. The large pencil is blunt enough to create a very diffused and natural filled-in effect, with only a few quick swipes. The waxy texture holds my brow hairs in place, and the highlighter provides a nice illuminating effect for the brow bone area. Only challenge? Finding a sharpener large enough for it!
Annabelle has the same "Stay Sharp" technology as Marcelle, with its automatic sharpening of the liner tip when you screw on the cap. I tried the Stay Sharp Long Wearing Brow Liner ($10) in dark brown, which is unfortunately too dark for my brows. I feel like the taupe shade would be a perfect match.
Both brands also have some great brow products for anyone with auburn or red hair. The Skinny Brow Liner ($9) in universal auburn is swatched above.
I only have rave reviews of the liquid and kajal liners from Annabelle, especially since these are all 2-in-1. The Mistake Proof Eyeliner + Corrector in black ($11) has an incredible corrector tip which will quickly remove any uneven edges. The corrector tip can also be pulled out and flipped around to a clean side when it becomes covered in liner.
I'm not crazy about black liner, but the pigmentation of the Instaglam Kajal Eyeliner + Kajal in black ($13) is incredible. The big felt-tip marker pen is fun and foolproof, and the kajal side makes a smoky eye super simple.
And finally, the best liner of them all. The EyeInk² Liquid Eyeliner Duo ($11) in brown is my new favourite for more dramatic looks. There are two ends - ultra fine, and fine. I usually switch between the two, and it's making the (once challenging) task of winged liner a lot less daunting. To see this liner in action, you can watch my full face tutorial video linked below. This shade of brown is so flattering.
