Review: Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain

Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in Fashion Magazine Winter 2015
I've been trying out a bunch of Revlon products recently, and I'm definitely finding some new favourites. The Colorstay Moisture Stains, one of their newest lip products, are creamy lipsticks that have rich pigmentation and stay glossy to avoid dryness. I tried out 050 London Posh, a sparkly peach, and 005 Parisian Passion, a deep burgundy red.

Revlon Moisture Stain in London Posh and Parisian Pink

As you can see in the swatches, London Posh really isn't good. The shade doesn't work on my skin tone and the texture is gross and grainy. There is absolutely no stain with this shade, and I don't like the amount of shimmer.

On the other hand, Parisian Passion is simply divine! I love the shade, and the stain lasts for hours. I don't notice much feathering around the edges, but I do have a bit of trouble working with the doe foot applicator.

With this large, fuzzy applicator, the process is far from easy. my lips aren't that thin, so I could see most people having a few problems trying to get an even line around the lips.

Aside from the uneven application, this is a great deep red shade that anyone could pull off. The wear time is impressive and I love the comfortable, hydrating feel.

  1. I use, "London Posh" to finish off my base colors, "Miami Fever" or "Shanghai Sizzle" First apply base color and use pinky finger to smooth, let set a few moments, apply, "London Posh" and smooth; you will have a lovely finished look.
